School Readiness Program: Building Confident Learners for a Successful Transition to School

At our centre, we understand that the transition to primary school is a significant milestone in a child’s life. To ensure our children are fully prepared for this important step, we have implemented a dedicated School Readiness Program, delivered in a specially designed room that mirrors a school-like environment. This space encourages independence, structured learning, and social collaboration—key elements that support school success.

Our program is tailored to equip children aged 4-5 years with the skills and confidence they need to transition smoothly into the formal school setting. It goes beyond academic preparation and fosters the development of the whole child, focusing on social-emotional wellbeing, physical development, language and communication, self-help skills, and early literacy and numeracy foundations.

Key Features of Our School Readiness Program

Structured routines and group experiences to build familiarity with the school day format.
Early literacy and numeracy experiences that promote pre-reading, writing, and mathematical thinking through play-based and intentional teaching strategies.
Social and emotional development through opportunities for turn-taking, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
Fine motor skill development to support pencil grip, scissor use, and other tasks required in the school environment.
Encouragement of independence in tasks such as packing bags, managing lunchboxes, and toileting.
